When it comes to the cost of living, Dubai is much more affordable than many of the world's major expatriate hubs, such as Hong Kong, London, New York and Singapore. According to Mercer's Cost of Living survey, Dubai is considered an expensive city, ranking 23rd out of 209 destinations. However, it's about 25% cheaper than New York City and 4% less expensive than Abu Dhabi. So, depending on where you currently live, Dubai may be a great bargain.
When it comes to expenses like food, entertainment and activities, Dubai is quite pricey (though still lower than rental costs). If you're looking for a place to eat out for lunch or dinner, there are options for all budgets - from international hotels located on the beachfront to more affordable eateries. However, alcohol is much more expensive since it's not something that locals can enjoy. Dubai offers high salaries and plenty of opportunities to save money.
But with all the high-end products and activities available, it can be easy to overspend.
